Just the Boys: Episode 44

Host: Aaron Rittmaster
Panel: Dave Compton, Nathan Trent Special Guests: Jay Lewis, Craig Lewis

In Episode 44 the panel discusses guys-only trips to Walt Disney World, including solo trips, adult brothers traveling together, and a father-son vacation. While we all agreed that we missed the rest of our families while we were away, there were opportunities we could take advantage of traveling with just the guys that would simply not have been available traveling with the whole family.

Deluxe Villa DVC Resorts: Episode 28

Host – Aaron Rittmaster (AJRitz)
Panel – Steve Bratton (brattosa); Carl Finsel(DisneyDadC); Barry Sommer (Freezin’ Raki)

Episode 28 concludes our Walt Disney World resort review series, with a look at the Deluxe Villa DVC properties Old Key West and Saratoga Springs. The panel discussed Saratoga Springs and the unique Tree House Villas, with a first hand report on the Tree House Villas from Barry. The panel talked about both resorts’ proximity to Downtown Disney, and the transportation issues related to each of these resorts. Carl took the hot seat for Ten Questions on her first return to the podcast after some technical issues truncated his first appearance. We talked about the multiple pools at these resorts, including recent pool renovations. And the panel discussed the various dining options available at these resorts, including the difference that having a fully-equipped kitchen means to meal planning for a Walt Disney World trip.

Blue Sky Magic Kingdom: Episode 27

Host – Aaron Rittmaster (AJRitz)
Panel – Dave Compton (Groovertoo); John Thomas (BigTex71)

Episode 27 begins a new series, with the DISDads panel taking a long, wishful thinking, look at the future of the theme parks of Walt Disney World. We begin the episode sharing thoughts about Magic Kingdom attractions that have run their course and probably need to go at some point down the road. Next, we addressed attractions that are in need of major overhauls. Finally, we look to the future with ideas for new attractions for the future of the Magic Kingdom. In the midst of all of that wishful thinking, we take a break for Ten Questions with new panelist Dave Compton.

Panel: Ryan Treichler (IAmTrike); Eric Anderson (DEA); Carl Nixon (carlnix20)

For the fourth installment of our Walt Disney World resort roundup, the Dis Dads began looking at Deluxe Resorts with the Monorail Resorts – The Polynesian, The Contemporary, and The Grand Floridian. After briefly discussing what sets apart Deluxe resorts in general, the panel discussed each of the monorail resorts in turn, sandwiched around Carl Nixon’s turn on the hotseat for 10 Questions. We wrapped up the podcast by sharing our favorite restaurants that are located in monorail resorts.

WDW Moderate “Plus” Resorts: Podcast Episode 20

Host: Aaron Rittmaster (AJRitz)
Panel: David Juart (IndyDisney); Nathan Trent (trennr)

For the third installment of our Walt Disney World resort roundup, the Dis Dads looked at what we called the “Moderate Plus” resorts – Coronado Springs Resort, The Cabins at Fort Wilderness, and the Swan & Dolphin. After starting the discussion with Coronado Springs, we got to know David Juart a bit better, as he took the hotseat to answer the 10 Questions. Next, we discussed the Cabins at Fort Wilderness and then the Swan & Dolphin – resorts that probably deserve to be considered Deluxe resorts, but for some missing perqs (since they are not Disney-owned).
