We continue the “If I Ran” series, with Eric Anderson and Richard Grady taking the boss’ seat, this time at Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Animation Studio. We get there takes on the right future direction for Disney’s animated properties, the role of sequels, ideas for future films, and even thoughts about creative talent to work with in the future.
Eric Anderson brought us the suggestion of making an animated version of the musical “Hamilton,” inspired by the work of wonderfully talented student artist Pati Cmak of The Animation Workshop in Denmark. This led to an interesting discussion of a whole series of Disney American History animated musicals. Here’s a short sample animation that Cmak posted to her Tumblr (for the song “Burn”)
