This week, the DISDads Podcast panel turns it’s attention back to the Walt Disney World theme parks. We take a Blue Sky look at ways we would like to see Marvel characters and settings integrated into the Walt Disney World theme parks, should Disney manage to pry those rights back from Universal.
What do you think of our ideas? How would you like to see the Marvel characters and settings integrated into the Walt Disney World theme parks? Tell us about it! Gents – outstanding show. I LOVED the idea of re-theming Innoventions and the even bigger effort to overhaul Future World. that is an excellent option to bring FW into the modern technical world. I also really liked the Marvel SHIELD cafeteria and other character options [Especially Avengers Weekend ;-)]
Something else that I thought about as I was listening was for Make A Wish foundation as a I know a lot of MAW kids choose WDW for their Wish. What if Disney procured a handful of the actors that played the Marvel characters and they would actually dine with the kids. Can you imagine how psyched the kids and parents) would be?
Thanks for the feedback Brett. Your point about MAW kids is a good one, but bringing more super heroes into the parks for meet and greet opportunities would be great across the board. I think that superheroes offer a nice counterbalance to princess and more “cartoony” meet and greet characters.
My thoughts were having the true actors (Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., etc.) in the Parks, and the limited events\activity was based on the likelihood of actors being available. I can’t see my girl Scarlet becoming a FT cast member (oh if she were though…) So I thought during Marvel weekends, that would be a nice surprise.
I did fail to note the exceptional upside to bringing in characters that align more with the male populace, especially the youth. Getting more “boy” characters into the Parks would be huge in growing the Disney Parks fan base. Spot on with the counter balance of the princesses. Top notch podcast. Blue Sky topics but all truly feasible Imagineering solutions. Well done, men!
