LOL… well deserved poke…
Actually I never named it “the Nate” …that was Randall… I referred to it as “Dole Whip Nate Style” in my Feb 2012 Trip Report. This treat nothing like a Citrus swirl (Orange/Vanilla)… The “Dole Whip Nate Style” is a Pineapple/Orange swirl in a pineapple juice float.
The origin of “Dole Whip Nate Style” came about form my first Father Son trip in Feb 2012. In all previous trips to Aloha Isle… they had Pineapple, Orange, Vanilla, Pineapple/Vanilla, Orange/Vanilla Dole Whip… but never Pineapple/Orange.
So when I noticed that Orange and Pineapple were in the same machine…I asked if they could make a Pineapple/Orange swirl float and they obliged.
I’m positive I am not the first to try it that way. But I’m pretty sure this was a fairly new combination in Feb 2012. As evidenced by this article from the Disney Food Blog May of 2010. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2010/05/05/disney-dole-whip/
I am also pretty sure no one advertised the wonderful goodienessness of an Dole Whip Nate Style like me… so thank you Randall for giving it it’s more commonly know name! “The Nate”
That was some quality podcasting right there! Had to grab myself two popsicles (since one popsicle is apparently too few for even a child) and am now sitting here contemplating making a batch of my famous kettle corn.
I will definitely have to do a maple cinnamon roll on our trip in September! That, and the macaron ice cream sandwich.
Thanks for making me hungry, and keeping me entertained while doing yard work!
