DAD Show #158 – Whirlwind Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon with Bob Chavez & Matt Halbauer

12993497_10209211749521554_2188998231898674100_nBob Chavez and Matt Halbauer are back on the DAD Show, talking about their truly insane whirlwind trip to Walt Disney World so that Bob could run in the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon. Hear all about their road trip – roughly 28 hours of driving time for about 15 hours in the Magic Kingdom (with a nice side order of Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar thrown in), and all fueled by (many) Citrus Swirls and a pixie-dusted lunch at Skipper’s Canteen.

The DAD Show is sponsored by Kingdom Strollers, Orlando’s Premium Stroller and Crib Rental source.

On this week’s DAD Show, Scott Stradtman talks about his family’s Spring Break vacation at Walt Disney World. They had a great time during one of the busiest weeks of the year at WDW, and Scott has some great tips for enjoying a multi-generational trip. Our discussion included talk about La Cava del Tequila and San Angel Inn in the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot, as well as other Epcot highlights like Biergarten and introducing Scott’s daughter to Beverly. And we got the highlights of visits to the other three Walt Disney World theme parks, several dining reviews, and much, much more!

The DISDads Podcast is now available on Google Play Music

Play_music_triangleHey Android fans! Google Play Music has finally added podcasts to its listings, and The DISDads Podcast is there for your listening pleasure. From now on, our podcasts should publish to Google Play Music simultaneously with publication to iTunes, Stitcher, and here on the website. Here’s where you can find us on Google Play Music.

It appears that Google Play Music will be listing our 100 most recent episodes. As always, you can find the complete catalog of DISDads Podcast shows here at the blog website. Google Play Music doesn’t appear to have any sort of review or even rating mechanism for podcasts at this point. But if you use Google Play Music (even if you usually listen to the podcast using some other method), I encourage you to go ahead and subscribe to the show on Google Play Music. That seems to be the only way to boost the profile of the show in this service.

Enjoying a Rainy Day at Walt Disney World – Episode 390

Episode390Host: Aaron Rittmaster
Panel: Terry Hawkins, Joe Masters

With an average annual temperature of over 73 degrees, it’s easy to forget that with that warmth in Orlando comes rain. Orlando gets an average of 110 days of measurable precipitation per year. And while June, July, August and September get the most days of rain, even in its driest months, Orlando averages more than one day of rain per week. So the chances are very good that during your Walt Disney World vacation, you’ll encounter at least some rain. The panel talks about ways to enjoy those rainy days at Walt Disney World, beyond just getting through them.

The DISDads Podcast is sponsored by Mouse Master Travel. Let a Mouse Master take care of the details of your next Disney Destination vacation, so you can focus on fun!

How do you handle rainy days during your WDW vacation? What did you think of the panel’s suggestions? Tell us about it! Email us at podcast@disdads.com; tweet us at DisDadsPodcast on Twitter; join in the online discussion of the podcasts on our DISDads Discussion Boards; and check out our DISDads Podcast Facebook page.
