Touring Disney California Adventure – Episode 522

DISDads Podcast 522 - Touring Disney California Adventure with Aaron Rittmaster, David Platt, Chris Papciak and Dustin Hertz
Host: Aaron Rittmaster
Panel: David Platt, Chris Papciak, Dustin Hertz

The panel discusses changing crowd patterns at Disney California Adventure, and makes suggestions for how to get the most out of your park touring experience. Along the way we also talk about exciting new (and relocating) attractions, announced at the D23 event last month. Included in the discussion is not only the impact of new attractions, but also the impact of MaxPass and some procedural changes that MaxPass brings with it. (Late breaking update: As of this episode posting, reports are that once a ticket has been scanned into the park, the geolocation accuracy of MaxPass is … less than precise. Guests are reporting the ability to pull a MaxPass while sitting poolside at the Disneyland Hotel, for example).

What of the changes just arrived and coming soon to DCA are most exciting to you? Do you have any tips or tricks to maximizing the DCA touring experience that we missed? Tell us about them! Leave a comment here on the blog; Email us at podcast@disdads.com; tweet us at DisDadsPodcast on Twitter; and check out our DISDads Podcast Facebook page.

Host: Aaron Ritmaster
Panel: Paul Lawson, Darcy McKillop, Joshua Shusterman

This week’s topic is a listener suggestion, from listener Murry Conway over on our Facebook Page. We talk about ways to leverage that extra time to maximize the experience, and some of the unique challenges to a longer planning window.

What are your best tips for Walt Disney World trip planning for a trip that’s more than a year in the future? Tell us about them! Leave a comment here on the blog; Email us at podcast@disdads.com; tweet us at DisDadsPodcast on Twitter; and check out our DISDads Podcast Facebook page.

DISDads.com Logowear FOR KIDS Teespring Campaign – Order by July 30, 2017

Disdads.Com Logowear New! Kids Stuff! Order at Teespring.comAfter launching the initial DISDads.com logowear campaign over on Teespring, I got questions about whether children’s sizes were available. I learned that kids’ sizes require their own silkscreen (because the adult screen is too large), and if it requires its own screen, it has to be run as a separate campaign, with a separate minimum order.

So here are the kids’ sizes – available for 10 days only. We’re offering a t-shirt and a hoodie. They’ve got the same circle logo on the back as the adult shirts, but for the front, I’ve gone with a larger banner (to make it easier to spot a kid wearing one in a crowd).

Prices are, again, well below Teespring’s recommended level, and 50% of the profit still goes directly to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The campaign expires July 30, 2017, and we do have to hit a separate minimum order threshold before they’ll print and ship them (though the minimum is pretty low).

DISDads.com Logowear Teespring Campaign – Order by August 2, 2017

DISDads.com Logowear campaign at TeespringEnough people seemed to be interested in a new round of “classic” DISDads.com logowear that I went ahead and launched a Teespring campaign. For the next two weeks you can order DISDads.com logowear t-shirts (2 different kinds), long-sleeve t-shirts, and for the first time, even a hoodie.

I’ve priced everything well below Teespring’s recommended prices, and 50% of the profit will go directly to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The campaign expires on August 2, 2017, and we do need to meet a minimum order before they’ll ship (though the minimum is pretty low).
