Fantasyland enjoys the grand opening of the new Chicken of the Sea Restaurant, built to resemble Captain Hook’s ship from Peter Pan, with a Skull Rock inspired dining patio behind it, complete with waterfalls and lagoon.  (This popular landmark will remain until construction begins for New Fantasyland, which will debut in 1983, at which time it will be removed and a newer, larger, grander Dumbo the Flying Elephant will relocate to this location at the back of Fantasyland).

Walt Disney World:  August 30, 2008

Back in the U.S. following his unprecedented performance at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China, the Magic Kingdom honors Micheal Phelps with an all-American style homecoming parade.
