  1. I voted for Pop Century for value… I enjoy staying there, the food court has been good. While it is kind of on the same level as Art of Animation, and AoA is truthfully better, I give the nod to Pop just based on dollars and cents value. And being able to walk across the bridge to check out AoA is a big benefit as well.

I really can’t argue against Animal Kingdom Lodge. If it would win, it will certainly be a rightful winner. I just had to give a vote to an underdog that I really like.

  2. I’m voting for Coranado Spring. Being from the Mountains in Tennessee I find the Southwestern/Mexican theme beautiful and captivating. The interior of the Standard rooms are very nicely appointed. And this was the first Moderate to feature all Queen/King beds.

The Feature Pool (the Dig Site) of the resort is certainly plenty large and the Aztec Pyramid and Jaguar slide are fun. Each of the resorts 3 different sections also feature a quiet pool if you don’t wish to make the journey to the Feature Pool. Resort features an on site Spa.

There are 3 quick service locations (Rix Cafe and the Pepper Market in “El Centro”…as well as Siestas Cantina at the Digsite Pool Area), and a Table Service (Maya Grill). While staying there on the Dining plan I found the Pepper Market to be a great value.

For those whom like to have a Drink there are 3 locations with various hours of operation. Siestas Cantina (Pool), Laguna Bar (Lakeside of El centro), and Rix Lounge (inside of El Centro).

The Gift Shop (Panchitos) is one of the largest Resort shops and often feature some more unique items… you may even be able to occasionally find the elusive resort specific items…I have the Hat to prove it.

Transportation… Aside from one of the Epcot Resorts… I think you would be hard pressed to find a more centrally located resort. Coronado it located on the North East Intersection of World Drive and Lake Beuna Vista Drive. If your Driving… it is easy to navigate to and from any of the 4 Parks… and it is barely a block from Blizzard Beach and Winter Summerland Mini golf. Coranado does not share buses with any other resort… so I hear that park transport to and from the resort is efficient.

Now here is a pet peeve I have…almost to a fault…everytime someone argues against Coranado they bring up the fact that “it’s a Convention Resort” …and because of that they deem it “un-Disney” to those I say poppycock!!! Why doesn’t the Contemporary, or Yacht/Beach club get the same consideration???

With all of that being said… somehow I see Animal Kingdom Lodge taking this region… though tit may have a tough battle with AoA… I think AoA could win if thay had a better mix of non-suite rooms or if the Family Suites were more modestly priced.
