Monday Poll: How long is your ideal WDW vacation?

The question says it all. We all joke about wanting to stay in the World perpetually. But we have other obligations and responsibilities that mean we need to eventually get home. And I know that my kids, on a constant Disney schedule, would eventually get pretty unpleasant to be around. So taking all of those things into consideration, how long is your ideal Walt Disney World vacation? Why?

  1. I chose longer than 8 days.
    Reasons for my choice:
    1) If with or without kids you can take it easy and not have to worry about wait times.
    2) You can (if you want to) visit each park at least two times.
    3) You can make your dining reservations for whenever as if it interferes with a parade/fireworks you can/will see them the next day you come to the park.
    4) Gives you more time to see everything.

  2. We have stayed for 2-12 days. More then 8 starts to get monotonous to me. It seems like I become the Disney bot after too many days at WDW. I love taking that many days to explore all the little noks and cranies of the different parks but even our kids seem to start getting bored.

  3. Eight days is just about perfect for us. That’s enough time to have six full park days – 2 each for Magic Kingdom and Epcot, 1 each for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Also, we like to travel during the off-season, and that’s about as much school as I’m comfortable with DD missing at one time, and it’s hard for me (and especially my self-employeed wife) to be away from work much longer than that.

  4. I picked 7 days as this seems to have been a good amount of time to keep it exciting for the entire time we are there. I would love to go for longer but I know that the magic would begin to fade after a week for the girls and I want to keep WDW as magical for them as possible.

  5. I agreed with Aaron on 8 days. Assuming the first and last days are travel days, that still leaves 1 day in each park, with an extra 2 if you want to go back for MK or Epcot or have a resort/water park day.

  6. When we go I do not go to the parks everyday. We spend a full day at the parks and then let the kids (and us) chill out and unwind by the pool. So, I chose the over 8 days. From our past experiences 10 days is perfect for us.

  7. I voted for > 8days. We have always driven…and probably always will. so not counting travel days my last 2 trips were 8 and 10…with downtime days built in. My ideal trip would be 12-14 days…Travel Included…enough park days to do MK and EP twice…and one day for HS and AK…plus do at least one water park…plus have some days built in just to enjoy my resort and do a little resort hopping.

  8. I voted for 8 and also agree completely with Aaron’s logic. 2 days at each of my favorite parks and 1 day at the parks that only need one day. Plus some chill-out-at-the-pool days. As long as I fly in early on day one and leave late on day eight, I’m good.
