Monday Poll: Which under-construction attraction are you most looking foward to?

There’s contruction going on all around the Disney Parks right now – a whole new land is being built out at Disney’s California Adventure, Star Tours II is getting ready to come online in both California and Florida, and the largest park expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is underway. So which of these projects are you most excited about? Vote in this weeks poll, and comment to this post, explaining why.

  1. Disneyland seems so far away so it was between star tours II and the new mine train. Went with the mine train because MK could use another coaster-ish ride.

  2. My initial reaction was to vote for Cars Land because, well, it sounds totally awesome. However, since I’ve yet to get out to Disneyland, I’m really looking forward to everything out there, not just Cars Land.
I’m intrigued by Journey of the Little Mermaid, more so to see how they’ve made it different from The Seas with Nemo over at Epcot. It seems just a bit too close to that ride and I’m afraid it will have too much of a “knock off” feel to it.
So I went and voted for Star Tours II. The old one was really showing it’s age and there is a lot of hype around the referb. I’m excited to see if it can live up to it all…

  3. I went with Carsland. I’ve never been to Disneyland, and I’m not sure if/when I’ll be able to make it out there, but Carsland just sounds awesome. I hope that it is successful and they can find a place to maybe squeeze it in down in Florida too. This is just one of the things being built that I am and have been completely intrigued by. I guess as far as Disney World goes (since that’s where I’ll be going) I’m looking forward to riding the new Star Tours later this year, but I’m really looking forward to the Seven Dwarves Mine Train. I look forward to seeing what they do with that concept. I think it can be really cool and add a possible non-girl-focused element to the new stuff being done in Fantasyland.

  4. I definitely voted for CARSLAND – but in actuality – for Disney California Adventure as a whole, more or less. CARSLAND will be brining about 3 entirely new adventures – most notably RADIATOR SPRINGS RACERS, which is going to take the Test Track technology and ride system – and ramp it up several notches. There will be 2 tracks, with cars racing each other, instead of just following each other as TT does. The concept art even shows at least one place where the cars will switch tracks – kind of like the old slot car race tracks of our youth. Plus there will be an attraction featuring Mater, and then I am drawing a blank on the other one… right now. Plus several new restaurants and shops. It will be totally immersive – as you will be stepping directly IN to Radiator Springs. Targeted opening is late spring 2012.

BUT – DCA is also getting THE LITTLE MERMAID: ARIEL’S UNDERSEA ADVENTURE this June 3rd, and GOOFY’S SKY SCHOOL will be coming on board shortly thereafter as well. The Magic Kindgom will get a clone of this ride, but that won’t be until 2012 or early 2013 depending on how the construction schedule pans out.

Don’t forget that right next door DISNEYLAND will be getting the Star Tours II update as well. DHS’ version will open a couple of weeks earlier due to the Star Tours Weekends schedule – but both will be pretty awesome, from what I’ve been reading and have been told by friends within the company. Look for a bunch of ride repeatability without it being the same every time! I like that.

I am also looking forward to some of what they’re doing at the MAGIC KINGDOM and Fantasyland… but not as much as I am looking forward to Carsland.

  5. Voted for the 7 Dwarfs Mine Coaster…but actually I’m looking forward to the whole Fantasyland expansion. If Carsland had been in Florida…then it would have gotten the vote.

  6. I went with Cars Land, just because it’s an entire land with multiple rides, and I can’t wait to see how it all looks. But the 7 Dwarves mine coaster and Star Tours II are high on the list, too.

  7. I am looking forward to the new star tours!! I thought it was a bit dated and it needed the change.. I will tell you guys how it was when I get back in June..
